On behalf of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), I would like to congratulate you and your staff on the succcssful development and implementation of a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point(HACCP) system in your establishment. The CFIA has reviewed your HACCP system and found that it meets our HACCP system recognition criteria.

Your establishment will be subject to audits to determine your proficiency to operate and maintain an effective HACCP system and to determine whether the documented prerequisite programs and HACCP plans are up to date. The audits will also determine if the HACCP system conforms with the documented procedures and will measure the effectiveness of the system in meeting the objectives set out in those procedures. Should evidence indicate that the HACCP system is not being maintained or operated as documented, recognition that your HACCP system meets CFIA's criteria will be revoked.

Please note that the implementation of a HACCP system does not eliminate or remove the requirement that you comply with all relevant Canadian and foreign legislation.

Sincerely,

Dr.Nina Szpakowski, D.V.M.
